Fred Vasseur revealed that it was difficult to watch the end of the race calmly, but they wanted their drivers to compete for the podium. „I am a big fan of the ‘let them race’ principle,” said Vasseur after the race. „I explained the concept of ‘no risk’ to them, but of course, that is always relative. However, I greatly appreciated the last few laps.” „We will discuss what happened after the race, but tomorrow they will be at the factory. We didn’t freeze the positions – I don’t want to watch the replay today! We let our drivers compete for third place – we did this because we know how special it is to stand on the podium here. However, we told them not to take any risks, and they complied.” Thanks to the 3rd and 4th places, Ferrari moved up to the bronze medal position in the Constructors’ Championship, surpassing Aston Martin. „It was a great race, and this result was the best we could achieve – we stood on the podium in front of our fans and scored 27 points, which allowed us to surpass Aston Martin and get closer to Mercedes,” explained Vasseur. „Carlos drove really well throughout the weekend, and Charles pulled himself together nicely after a difficult start on Friday. In two weeks, we will start from scratch again in Singapore, but we can be satisfied with what we achieved here. We knew our car would be competitive on these types of tracks, and the SF-23 delivered what was expected.”
