Mick Schumacher is once again criticizing the Haas F1 team: as we know, the German driver was nurtured by Gunther Steiner’s team for two years, but in his second season, he clearly lost to Kevin Magnussen, who was called back to the F1, and he also crashed the car on several occasions, so his contract was not renewed in the end.
Since then, Schumacher has been working as a reserve driver for Mercedes in the simulator, but of course he wants to return to the grid. However, he has now criticized Haas again – not for the first time in 2023.
„Now I see how this should work, while my two years at Haas didn’t show me that. We cannot expect a driver to perform at his best if we don’t support him properly. Now I know this, and I am ready to attack again and show what I am capable of,” Schumacher told Sky Sports Germany.
However, there is not much chance for 2024, as there are currently only four vacancies for the next season: Guanyu Zhou’s place at Sauber, the two cars at AlphaTauri, and potentially Logan Sargeant’s vacant seat at Williams. The latter depends only on Sargeant, and AlphaTauri has already made it clear several times that they will not sign the Mercedes-affiliated Schumacher.
„There is not much movement currently in the driver market, as many drivers’ places are already taken. My first goal was to make it to F1. The second goal is to become a world champion, which is still open,” Schumacher said about this.
